Leona Heights Neighborhood Newsby Gordon Laverty |
Leona Heights Improvement Association members have proved that associations not only help protect area zoning and homeowner/resident interests, they can also offer a way of having a good time together. Some LHIA members got together to attend Woodminster Summer Musicals (Guys and Dolls and Forever Plaid) in our own local, nationally recognized outdoor theater. In the season finale, Forever Plaid, a musical featuring four Bay Area singer/actors singing music of the 1950s and '60s, it was also fun to see the cameo appearance of Annette Laverty with the singers. Next year we plan to expand the neighborhood offering to all three Woodminster shows. If you wish to be included on the notice list for 2000, call me at 531-4860. Recent happenings in the Leona Heights neighborhood underscore the need for landowners to protect their property line markers and to periodically check to see that they are findable. You never know when you may need to locate the markers to clarify location of fences, drainage problems, property boundaries for solution of neighbor discussions, and similar issues. After several changes of property ownership through sales, new adjacent owners can have differing viewpoints reconcilable only by accurate location of property corners. Land resurveys may be required to establish lost markers. Maintaining known markers is much more economical. |
