Safeway Update

Safeway District Manager George Arias thinks that our Lincoln Square store has huge potential, but other stores in Northern California generate nearly triple the profit. As a result, it could be some time before we see any updates in our neighborhood chain supermarket. Safeway is currently working on the grand reopenings of two stores in Alameda.

In the meantime, Arias says that Safeway will be repairing the parking lot in front of the store at Lincoln Square and continuing to encourage the 20/20 Recycling Center to maintain a neat appearance. The district manager welcomes residents to send letters directly to him regarding their shopping experience. While Safeway is only one of the owners in Lincoln Square, Arias promises to forward comments to the appropriate person. Send letters to George Arias, District Manager. At the Recreation Center

There's still time to sign up for summer day camp! As of this writing, Art & Discovery Camp, August 22 through 26, has openings for kids grades one through six and junior counselors grades seven through eight.

Registration for programs such as Rockets, Kinder Play, and Before School Care begins on Monday, August 8. Registration for fall programs begins on September 1. For more information, contact the Rec. Center at 482-7827.
