Orchids to Beth Murray and Dr. Jenny Taylor of Creature Comforts, 2501 MacArthur Boulevard, for providing free holistic care to animals at the Oakland Zoo and making our community a healthy place for our pets. Orchids to Jeanne Nixon for her volunteer commitment to Horace Mann School organizing neighbors and NCPC to clean up and plant trees and a garden, assisting teachers to organize the new library, and having a vision and getting things done. Orchids to the John Stuart Corporation for building Lincoln Court Senior Housing, 2400 MacArthur Boulevard, providing our community's seniors affordable housing and all of us a wonderful, modern building to enjoy. Orchids to Kenneth Leacock, Deja Clark, Wang Saindon, and Martin Moreno of the Keystone Club at the Boys & Girls Club, 3300 High Street, for cleaning parks, visiting retirement homes, and organizing car-wash events in our community as volunteer activists.
