Fruitvale Alive'
This $4.1million project will improve multimodal access along a 1.7-mile segment of Fruitvale Avenue between the Fruitvale BART Station/East 12th Street and MacArthur Blvd./Dimond Library. Specific treatments are planned to calm traffic, create safer pedestrian crossings, improve bus-stop locations, strengthen the visual connectivity of the street, and enhance the overall corridor environment. This project crosses two districts: Councilmember Jean Quan, District Four and Councilmember Ignacio De La Fuente, District Five. Anticipated construction start is in September '09.
