| Dear Metro, I wish to say public thanks to the Dimond and Glenview merchants who supported the recent volunteer efforts of St Paul Lutheran Church at 1658 Excelsior Ave. Every year our congregation sponsors one of the Rebuilding Together Oakland projects which requires a monetary contribution as well as providing volunteers and leaders for rehabilitating the home of senior homeowners who need help in making their property more comfortable and safe. And we have to feed our volunteers! ' Thank you Stan Dodson at La Farine (3411 Fruivale Ave.), Scott Soohoo at Peet's Coffee (3403 Fruitvale Ave.), Veronica at Mc Donald's (2208 Mac Arthur Blvd.), and George at Pastinos (4207 Park Blvd.). 'Colonial Do-nuts on Lakeshore Ave. and Popo's Pizza at 1671 8th St. also provided food for us. We are grateful for the good food and our homeowners are pleased with their newly renovated home. |
